Bold Brave Courageous was founded for one very basic reason - our troops need our help.
Established in December 2004, Bold Brave Courageous was originally conceived as a one-time fundraising effort in response to the request of various Military web sites collecting items of comfort such as clothing, backpacks, and toiletries for our returning wounded at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington DC, and the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda MD.
After visiting both hospitals, it became apparent that the need for these items and for public support was a continuing one, and we could not walk away from this need without doing everything in our power to help. Subsequently, we collected more items and visited personnel residing at the Mologne House and Fisher House as well.
Thus the idea of Bold Brave Courageous morphed from a one-time endeavor to a Nonprofit Corporation formed in the State of New Jersey.
On November 8, 2005, we were able to expand our umbrella to include Brooke Army Hospital in Fort Sam Houston, Texas, with our first large shipment of comfort bags.
With the help and support of our volunteers and donors, we are able to address the needs of many of our country's wounded heros by saying thank you, and offering to accept a very small piece of their burden by providing comfort items to them that they might not otherwise have.
Our mission is to support American troops and their families, today, tomorrow, and into the future.
